The severe Horn of Africa drought has already placed over 11 million people in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Djibouti in crisis. More than 10 million people in East Africa are in dire need of humanitarian aid as a result of diminishing food sources stemming from the recent rise in food prices and severe drought that has overwhelmed the region. As you are aware, there is a postal strike disturbing mail delivery across Canada. We don’t know how long it will last, or how much it will affect donations mailed to ADRA Canada. We do know that the majority of our funding still comes through the mail and without these donations our ability to help those in need would be greatly hindered. Continue reading
